A journey for your senses

Saffron

Morocco's traditional local produce is of incomparable quality and includes aromatics like saffron-aka “the red gold” grown in only a few regions throughout the kingdom. The two well-known regions are Taliouine, a little mountain village in the south of Morocco, and the Ourika Valley at the foot of the Atlas Mountains near Marrakech.

Discover the Atlas Mountains and fields of purple crocuses in the picturesque Ourika Valley and witness the labor-intensive process of the saffron harvest. The harvest lasts typically three weeks in late October or early November and is managed by women who gather early in the morning to complete the day’s harvest.

We recommend our guests take suitable clothes with their camera, sunglasses and sun cream.

The Saffron tour includes:

- Return transfer to Saffron farm with a car provided for   the day
- Guide on how crocuses are grown, harvested and how   Saffron is processed
- A bottle of water to carry with you or re-usable water   bottle
